Student Kymograph

The AWS Student Kymograph is very reliable instrument for use in the study of physiology, pharmacology and Biological Science. There are two instrument model available and each is provided with a series of advance features. The instrument are available with or without stimulator. There is a range of accessories two suit most applications. Illustrated with the kymograph below is one suggested kit or assembly of the more popular accessories.

Stethograph
The Stethograph is designed for recording human respiratory movement with a recording device such as a tambour or transducer.

The corrugated rubber tubing is 200mm (8 inch) long and 35mm (13/8 inch) diameter. A nickel-plated chain 850mm (34 inch long, is secured at one end of the Stethograph, and may be secured at any point to a hook at the opposite end. In this manner the Stethograph may be placed in a convenient, yet unyielding, way on the subject.

At one end of the Stethograph is riffled tube with an inside diameter of 3mm (1/8 inch), for connection to the tambour or the recoding device,

The combination of these two items is used to record respiratory patterns, i.e rate, rhythm and amplitude during conditions :During * Talking

* Swallowing

* Speaking

* After Walking

* Breath Holding

* Hyper Ventilation

Use the Frontal Writing Point with Aluminum Stem and fixed the Kymograph Speed No: 3. and normal respiration, using two sets it is also possible to study chest and abdominal movements simultaneously under a variety of circumstance. (See drawing below).
